Every Idle Cultivation code guide repeats the same sentence: you must unlock the Cultivation Manual before Premium will accept a string. That is not a wiki invention. Independent code trackers and the live Open Test UI agree. This page is what the Manual is, how to get it, and what to do the minute it appears.
If you just spawned, sit first. The Manual is an early gate, not a skip of Getting Started.
What the Manual is
The Cultivation Manual is the account book. In a xianxia idle it is the place the game stores “how this character works.” In this Roblox Open Test it is also the key for the Codes tab. Until it unlocks, you can still Cultivate, but you cannot claim Holy1000Players or anything else on the codes list.
Think of it as the difference between a guest sitting in the courtyard and a disciple who is allowed to read the inner pages. Qi still moves for the guest. Spins do not.
How to unlock it
Salt Mountain has not published a numbered qi requirement. The practical path:
- Set graphics to level 3 or higher so the unlock popup is visible.
- Stay in Cultivate at Body Awakening. Do not spend the first ten minutes lost in Cosmetic Premium.
- Watch for a book prompt, a HUD badge, or a new left-rail entry. Click it. If you click away, reopen it; Open Test popups can be shy.
- Open Premium on the left. If Codes now exists in the top-right, the Manual is doing its job.
- Redeem immediately using how to redeem.
If Codes is still missing after a healthy Cultivate stretch, you are either on the wrong experience (not Salt Mountain’s Idle Cultivation), still on a potato graphics preset, or looking at Settings instead of Premium. There is no chat command that replaces the book.
What to use it for after codes
The Manual is not only a code key. Treat it as:
- The index of character systems on the systems hub.
- The place you confirm bloodline and talent slots exist before you dump spins.
- The first place you look after a shutdown, before you assume a wipe. The official promise is no data resets; the Manual is how you verify the character is still there.
- A reminder to play the genre honestly: read, sit, break through. The game cites Overmortal, Er Gen, and Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation as inspiration, not as a loot table.
After codes, lock a bloodline, spend a talent streak, and return to Cultivate. The Manual does not play the game for you.

Do not sell, drop, or ignore the Manual if it appears as an item. Do not confuse it with a Combat drop. Do not wait for a script to “unlock Manual instantly.” Sit. That is the intended gate.
If the Manual vanishes after a patch
Rejoin, wait for HUD handshake, raise graphics, reopen Premium. Then check the Updates Hub. Open Test UI can hide a tab without deleting the book. If Codes still works, you still have it even if the icon moved.
The Manual is the least glamorous page on this wiki and the one that saves the most spins. Unlock it, redeem, then go be a cultivator.
